The Vice-Chancellor of Tamale Technical University (TaTU) Prof. Abass Braimah has commended Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for honouring his pledge of asphalting the entire Education Ridge enclave which includes the Tamale Technical University.
The Vice Chancellor made this comment when the contractor reported to site as pledged by the Vice President over the weekends in Tamasco.
He described the Vice President's initiative to get all the schools within the Education Ridge enclave asphalted as a gesture the entire North should be proud of.
Prof. Braimah emphasized how strategic the Education Ridge area is to the provision of education at all levels within Tamale and its environs.
He challenged all political actors especially those from the North to emulate the examplary leadership Dr. Bawumia has exhibited particularly in the provision of educational infrastructure for schools around the northern regions.
Prof. Abass also applauded the Director of Urban Roads Alhaji Abass Awolu and the contractors for such a swift move in carrying out the directives of the Vice President.
He lamented that over the years the University Management made several efforts to explore opportunities to get the roads within the University upgraded to meet the status of a University but all proved futile.
He appealed to the Urban Roads and the Consultant to ensure that all the roads within the University campus are asphalted as directed by the Vice President.
The Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Saturday, 26th June during the launch of Tamasco 70th anniversary celebrations pledged that the asphalting of roads within Tamasco will be extended to all the schools in the Education Ridge enclave that includes, Tamale College of Education (TATCO), Tamale Senior High School( Tamasco), Bagabaga College of Education (BATCO), and Tamale Technical University (TaTU).
