Insult isn’t development lubricant

Insult isnt development lubricant
19.06.2021 LISTEN

Freedom of speech is an essential ingredient needed for peace and tranquility. In places where culture of silence triumphs over the aforementioned, the end result is disastrous. Today, Ghana enjoys peace because our forefathers fought for it. What are we also doing to uphold and defend it?

I'm not comfortable with the way and manner people take to social media to lambast the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II, Former President, John Dramani Mahama among other respected personalities in the country. Social Media never forget and would humbly implore all involved in using insults as panacea to the nation's crisis to desist from such acts. However, this must be a wakeup call for our leaders to eschew acts of alleged bribery and corruption.

Ghana must see a face-lift in terms of development and the best one could do at this time is to criticise constructively. Must we abuse the democracy we comfortably enjoy today? Do you think many of these social media deviants would have had a field day during the coup days? It is expedient to criticise but we must be guided by decorum.

Insult isn’t development lubricant neither can it expedite plans to see Ghana succeed. Ghana only needs a strategic plan to ensure that every government goes by it. Failure to obliged to the terms and conditions in the plan attracts say impeachment or a possible incarceration. That way, our leaders will work assiduously in ensuring that the plight of the populace is held in high esteem.

In the interim, I would humbly urge the ruling government to put in measures to address some of the pertinent issues confronting the good people of Ghana.

Let's shun insults on our leaders and work diligently in brightening the corner where we live.
