Information picked up by ModernGhana News from Kumasi Nhyiaso Constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) indicate that some sympathisers of the party are not happy with what they described as attempts by Hon Kennedy Kankam's attempt to smuggle his way through to become the mayor of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).

Hon. Kennedy Kankam is the former Member of Parliament for Nhyiaso Constituency on the ticket of NPP, but he was badly humiliated in the last NPP primaries.

According to party insiders who spoke to our correspondent, Kankam failed to perform when he got the opportunity to become MP for the constituency, a situation they said, led to his exit.

one Bright Kwoffie intimated that he was taken aback when he heard that Kennedy Kankam is pushing his way to KMA.

He believes if Kankam was unable to manage the small constituency at Nhyiaso, how possible that he can run the affairs of the city.

Others believe Mr Kankam's alleged bad personal relationship does not qualify him for the position taking into consideration the number of people.

"We are serving notice to the authorities to forget about Hon Kankam in the appointment considerations at KMA since the city will be worse off if he is appointed.

"We have no ill motive against our former MP nor any of the six prospective candidates who are vying for the mayorship position at KMA, but we find it appropriate to raise red flag against Kankam for the sake of development of Kumasi since we are very sure he has no qualities to manage the city," five other outspoken NPP supporters told this reporter.
