Tax Revenue for Economic Enhancement (TREE) in collaboration with No Business as Usual (NBU) have organized a Bill Distribution Training workshop for revenue collectors in the Asokore Mampong Municipal assembly of the Ashanti region.

The training aimed to equip trainees with requisite knowledge on how the distribution of the property rate bills within the Asokore Mampong Municipality will be done, and how to combat the challenges that might emerge during the bill distribution exercise.

Mr Hamza Bawa Mahama, the facilitator on the TREE project, took trainees through the various sections of the property rate bill.

He encouraged trainees to be advocates for the Electronic Billing and Payment type of transaction that has been introduced by the assembly.

"The essence of the training is to expose them to what bill distribution actually entails, what they should do when they are on the distributing field, and when they receive money in the course of bill distribution, what they should do."

According to Mr Hamza, it is more important for revenue collectors to start advocating for electronic services and curb leakages of revenue in the municipality.

He urged all participants to remain committed to working towards revenue enhancement and help gear towards development in the country.

NBU is a non-governmental organization aim at developing individuals and organizational capacity to the development of the country.
