Nigerian Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Ibrahim Attahiru died in the Air Force Plane crash

The People’s Democratic League (PDL) has learned with great shock and sorrow that a Nigerian Air Force Plane crashed due to poor weather conditions near Kaduna Air Port, North-western Nigeria. This sad event took place on 21st May, 2021.

A total of eleven (11) people, including the Nigerian Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Ibrahim Attahiru died in the Air Force Plane crash, according to media reports.

Having lived and exiled in Nigeria in 1989-1991, we have a better understanding of the additional hardships being endured. We also know that the people of Nigeria will recover and have peace in true.

We are deeply saddened for the tremendous loss of precious lives and devastation. In this hour of bereavement and grief, we express our heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the Nigerian Federal Armed Forces and the entire people of Sierra Leone for the tragic accident. We share the sorrow and suffering of the bereaved families who have lost their loved ones.

May God Almighty Allah rest the departed souls in eternal peace!
