The Managing Director of Accra Digital Center, Mr. Ofosu Nkansah has urged Ministers of State to frequently engage the media to inform the public about government policies and progress of implementation.

According to him, when ministers speak to the media their explanations help people to have a clear understanding of a lot of issues.

Mr. Nkansah noted that the media engagements by Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh last Sunday and the Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutsum on May 17 have help explained address a lot of issues related to their respective sectors.

"Dear Ministers of State, please be doing a lot more of the media engagements. Having Energy Minister speak yesterday and Education Minister on Peace today has helped explain a lot of issues," Mr. Nkansah wrote in a Facebook post.

Meanwhile, Kofi Tonto, another government appointee who works in Ghana's embassy in the United States as Head of Information has also advised his fellow government appointees to use the media to tell the masses about the outcomes of their work.

According to him, engaging the media is part of the responsibilities of government appointees as it is the only way through which they [government appointees] can inform and gather feedback.

"If you are a Minister or CEO, kindly make time and visit radio and TV stations and inform Ghanaians about the work you are doing. Part of your duty includes informing the masses and gathering feedback," Mr. Tonto stated on social media.
