Making me one-term MP problematic for Awutu Senya West – George Andah

Politics Making me one-term MP problematic for Awutu Senya West – George Andah
MAY 10, 2021 LISTEN

The immediate past Awutu Senya West MP, George Andah is unhappy about the decision of his constituents to vote him out as MP.

Mr. Andah, who lost the seat in his bid for re-election to the National Democratic Congress’ Gizella Tetteh, said the next MP will have to start a development agenda afresh.

He had hoped that his efforts at developmental projects would have won him favour in his constituency.

“We were thinking we could use it as an opportunity to say no to one-term MP because when you do one-term, in my view, it is a bit problematic and the next person has to start all over again,” he said on The Chamber on Citi TV.

Mr. Andah noted that propaganda against him contributed to his defeat in the polls.

He cited the perception that he was not warm enough for his constituents to approach him as false.

“There is a significant role that propaganda plays and if you are not able to address that negativity that brews from the propaganda, that perception becomes a bit entrenched and that becomes reality.”

In addition to this, he admitted that there were also internal issues within the New Patriotic Party in the constituency.

“I am not sure we were able to get the party properly united after the primaries,” Mr. Andah stated.
