22.04.2021 LISTEN

Following the official announcement of the nomination of Lawyer Alfred Tuah-Yeboah as Deputy Minister-designate for Justice and Attorney-General, several congratulatory messages have been pouring in for the private legal practitioner.

Most people in the Bono Region have been extolling Lawyer Tuah-Yeboah, mostly on social media platforms and the mainstream media, since last week when news broke that the President of the Ghana Bar Association for Bono, Bono East and Ahafo regions was heading to the Attorney-General’s Office/Ministry of Justice as a deputy minister.

And even before the official announcement on Tuesday April 21, 2021, well-wishers, especially those in Sunyani East constituency, have not ceased to continuously pour in their messages of congratulations for their compatriot.

Sunyani East NPP
The Sunyani East Constituency of the NPP, which was one of the first groups to congratulate Lawyer Tuah-Yeboah commended President Akufo-Addo for the nomination and hoped that he would finally secure parliamentary approval to start work as expected.

The NPP Constituency Chairman, Mr. Frank Musah, Damtarl recounted Lawyer Tuah-Yeboah’s loyalty to the party over the years, especially during the last general elections saying, “even though Lawyer Alfred Tuah-Yeboah lost last year’s NPP parliamentary primaries to the incumbent MP for Sunyani East, Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, he played an active role in the party’s campaign activities both at the constituency and at the regional levels.”

He said in a Press Release that “the Sunyani East constituency recognizes and acknowledges the various sums of monies and large quantities of branded party T-shirts and other party paraphernalia donated by Lawyer Tuah-Yeboah to the constituency in support of campaign activities ahead of the 2020 general elections.”

Sunyani Youth & Friends of Lawyer Tuah-Yeboah

For their part, Friends of Lawyer Tuah-Yeboah and the Youth of Sunyani have commended President Akufo-Addo for “settling on one of the illustrious sons of the Bono region as a deputy minister."

“We strongly believe that Lawyer Tuah-Yeboah’s appointment has once again given the Sunyani East constituency a conspicuous face in the current NPP government as it used to be some years back”, a Statement signed by the Convener, Kingsley Kusi-Appiah said.

The Statement expressed the hope the deputy minister-nominee would live up to expectation to justify the trust and confidence reposed in him by the State through the President, and added that “the youth of the Sunyani East constituency consider Lawyer Tuah-Yeboah as their role-model owing to his gentleness, humility, competence and cordial relations with others as well as his unquestionable loyalty to the NPP over the years.”

Concerned NPP Supporters Bono Region
The Concerned NPP Supporters – Bono Region are also not left out as they have sent-in their congratulatory message.

The group believes that “Mr. Alfred Tuah Yeboah is reputed for being a legal luminary, good mediator and a smart politician as well. It is our fervent prayer that the exemplary qualities and skills that endeared him in the heart of the President and merited his nomination would inure to the benefit of all Ghanaians.”

Tabiri Kwame Eric, who issued a Statement on behalf of the group, asked the nominee to act swiftly in dealing with appointees of President Mahama’s administration who engaged in corrupt deals.

“We wish to appeal through him for the immediate prosecution of officials suspected to have committed corrupt acts while serving in the Mahama administration and in the current government if any”, he said.
