Assembly Members within the Asokore Mampong Municipality have been equipped with effective skills in proposal writing to seek aid from funding organizations.

The training organized by No business As Usual NBU, a non-governmental organization with funding from the European Union aimed at equipping the assemblymen who are major stakeholders in the local development structure.

The training is aimed at equipping electoral leaders on how to write effective proposals to secure fund from international donor and funders to embark on community development projects.

Such projects help to enhance the economic development and livelihood of the people within local communities.

Funding agencies are international and local organizations that seek to fund various developmental projects in local communities within developing countries.

The intervention of such organizations ease pressure on government economic distributions, as well as adequately assisting needed communities with infrastructural development.

Mr. Kenneth Kankam Research fellow at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in his presentation addressed the need for assembly to develop their proposal writing abilities to meet the expectations from funders.

According to him, the central government overburden with all projects will either slow or denied many opportunities for needed projects.

Participants were presented with US embassy proposal templates and to exercise their hands-on.

Hon. Matthew Amisa, the Presiding Member of the Asokore Mampong Assembly on behalf of his colleagues applauded NBU for such a transforming program.

He said the members are enlightened on the subject they have remained ignorant about for a decade.

He appealed to his colleague assembly members to make the knowledge acquired fruitful to benefit their respective communities.
