A drug dealer in the Assin Fosu of the Central region has been sentenced to 19 years in prison for drug peddling and attempted murder.
Kofi Barima Korankye as he is popularly called is 23 years old and was arrested by the Assin Fosu police patrol team in Assin Dompin Municipality for drug peddling.
Police say they have been on the heels of Korankye for a while now and the indigenes of the area know about his illegal activities.
Korankye worsen his plight when he attempted to kill his father for hiding his drugs.
According to eyewitnesses, he chased his 72-year-old father with a gun and other weapons threatening to kill him.
Police tracked him down and arrested him at Assin Dompin and retrieved some quantity of weed, cocaine, a pair of Scissors and matches from him.
He was subsequently arraigned before the Cape Coast High Court and the presiding Judge Justice Dorinda Smith Arthur handed him 14 years jail time.
He is to serve 14 years for drugs peddling and 5 years for attempted murder.
