Twitter’s HQ in Ghana is more jobs coming – Oppong Nkrumah

Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has said the news about Twitter setting up its Africa headquarters in Ghana is a big win for Ghana.

He said Twitter's move means more jobs for the youth in Ghana.

The Ofoase Ayirebi MP in a tweet said, “#TwitterGhana is a big win for Ghana. This means more jobs and opportunities for our youth in the Tech space.”

The American microblogging and social networking service, Twitter announced plans to establish its base in Ghana.

With its headquarters in San Francisco, California, United States , Twitter says Ghana has been chosen among its peers due to the country's support for free speech, champion for democracy, online freedom and the Open Internet of which it is also an advocate.

It added that Ghana’s recent appointment to host The Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area aligns with its overarching goal to establish a presence in the region that will support its efforts to improve and tailor its service across Africa.

"We are looking for specialists to join several teams including product, design, engineering, marketing and communications.
