COVID-19 Vaccination officially begins in Berekum Municipality

The Berekum Municipal Health Directorate has started administering the COVID-19 vaccine in the Municipality.

According to the Municipal Health Director, Mr. Duut Bedima Esq. the Directorate took delivery of six hundred doses of the Astra Zeneca Vaccine to vaccinate health workers in the Municipality.

The Director disclosed that though the doses supplied could not cater to all the health workers in the Municipality, he expressed optimism that the next batch will be supplied very soon.

Addressing the media after taking a shot of the vaccine, the Municipal Chief Executive for Berekum, Mr. Kofi Adjei commended health workers in the Municipality for living up to their responsibilities in the fight against the covid-19 pandemic.

He appealed to the people of Berekum and Ghana for that matter to get vaccinated when the government rolls out the mass vaccination in the course of the year because the vaccines were safe.. He was optimistic that the vaccines will prevent the spread of the disease to ensure a healthy population.

The Municipal Chief Executive appealed to residents of Berekum to continue to observe the covid-19 protocols to keep safe adding that the disease is real.
