Management of Wiafe Akenten Secondary Technical School in the Offinso North District of Ashanti region under the leadership of Mr. Appiahgyei has vowed to mesmerize their enclave if not the region with an excellent outcome in the upcoming WASSCE.

This comes after the school succeeded in securing the mandate to sit the 2021 exams as WAEC Center.

The 9-year-old school in its last 6 participation of the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination have been joining other schools in neighbouring Bono Region amid travel difficulties and frustrations before writing which in some cases resulted in bad performance

Speaking on the Cruz FM morning show programme last week, Mr. Cosmos Ntim a Tuter intimated that gaining a center code now is a huge boost to excel beyond measure judging from the last 4 academic performances exhibited by their candidates and discipline instilled among students in the school.

Aside from the waiving of outside travels for exams, the school has also managed to secure hostel facilities for students who come from the far end to enroll which according to Mr. Cosmos enables them to implement disciplinary measures and ensure regular and effective extra classes, gearing towards a 100 percent record in the coming WASSCE

The school which was initially privately owned absorbed by the government and roped onto the Free SHS accreditation in 2019 with a student population of over 600 in total first shined in 2017 when it recorded a 90 percent pass mark in that year’s WASSCE exams.

’’We started our first WASSCE exams in 2015 at Krobo and encountered some challenges, moved to Holy Star in 2016 and to Abisim in 2017 where we recorded our best results ever, so from 2017 to 2020 we’ve been excelling with 2020 being the most excellent results we had. Now in this regard, we are working assiduously to put up an outstanding performance now that we are participating at home’’, Mr. Cosmos stated.

In an interview with CruzNews, Headmaster Mr. Appiahgyei disclosed his vision to improve the school’s infrastructure by the help of the assembly to ensure maintenance of discipline and effective management, teaching, and learning. He said an appreciable amount of success has been chalked by academically and infrastructural wise changing the face of the school in the last few years due to prudent and proactive management which he and his outfit intends to cling on.

The Wiafe Akenten Senior Secondary Technical is one of 4 major Second cycle institutions in the Offinso North district located at Afrancho, a suburb of Akumadan established by the Presbyterian Mission in 2012 named after Nana Wiafe Akenten III.
