Africa: Bucket With A Hole

Feature Article Africa: Bucket With A Hole
MAR 22, 2021 LISTEN

Successful societies are based on the same principles in the past, present and future: working with and on time, being on time, discipline, hard work, stay focused on high goals, plan with strategy, generation thinking and acting, working as a nation based on consent and common trust, believe in the success of the nation and individuals, supporting each other to lift the nation by accepting differences in people as a driving force for overall nation's success, absence of selfishness seen in acts of corruption, ability to correct wrongs in others and appreciate to be corrected by them for common and individual good, support of talented persons among them by accepting we are all made for a purpose and know our positions in life.

Even if Africans get "fair" prices for their products and natural resources, whites stop bribing their leaders for their advantage, stop interfering in African matters, allow Africans to make their own decisions, open their markets for African products and services more and "fairly"; as long as the bucket has a hole in the form of the not changed and improved mind of Africans, achieved by their own will and might, any honest intervention and help will not fill the bucket with a hole to overflow.

NB: In my 6 years in Ghana I only was late once by 15 minutes due to unexpected heavy traffic, seeing my contact even had not arrived not concerned to call me even while I had let him know well in advance of my late arrival. I lost 2-3 months of my life during these years waiting for people to arrive, the time I could have spent to build my house. Ministers in Germany ask their assistants to inform people waiting for them of delay in arrival while African leaders do not care ( are they more specific than our leaders?)
