International week against racism 2021
16.03.2021 LISTEN

The fight against racism comes on various levels, local, national and international. As long as the connection in various actions to the local or national level is not drawn but targeting the global general issue of racism it must be reflected that racism is in every race against every race in every corner of the world. One-sided campaigns are on that level never credible when the "Good people" among whites never having lived for a substantial period of time in Africa themselves only sitting in the comfort of their armchairs in their white-dominated societies.

Every white person living in Africa can share stories of daily Racism of black locals against them even killings of innocent Chinese businessmen in 2016 of which we are witness of never having triggered any "White lives matter" movement.

On my first visit to Africa sitting in a Taxi, the driver shouted to my then-wife she had cheated on him not disclosing her man is white demanding double price...as during her negotiation she had advised me to hide behind a kiosk (why should I hide behind a kiosk, tree or whatever just to book a taxi). Wanting to rent a house my wife was told by the landlady she would charge a white man wanting to rent double the price. Stories like these are endless to share, even my wife refuses me to shop in the open markets of Africa knowing at the end I would have to pay double compared to her even knowing the local real price.

While in countries like the USA or UK black MPs stand for their constituency but in Africa, like Ghana, a white man with Ghanaian citizenship would not be possible to stand for election and be voted for as an MP (SA is a special case by its own history).

Whites in Africa do not talk much about their daily experiences on this matter in fear when they speak out and give their counts of the matter to be kicked out from Africa by which lose their companies. International Media Houses never ask us of what we whites in Africa go through daily as to sell our stories to their own readers makes them not popular, fewer readers to buy their papers, fewer viewers to watch reports. The truth makes for most people in the world of the white man only sense when their own expectations and perception are pleased but not confronted with the real truth and reality.

The fight against racism becomes therefore an issue that is not fully addressing the underlying problem and missing the overall target sadly.
