A young man by Mr. Akwasi Oduro has been allegedly exposed by indigenes of Wassa Saa in the Amenfi East Constituency for calling on President Akufo Addo not to reappoint Hon. Helena Ama Appiah as Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area.

Mr Akwasi in recent times is reported to have sponsored a campaign to remove Hon. Helena Ama Appiah from office.

Using an acclaimed group calling itself Concerned Citizens of Amenfi East, Mr Akwasi alleged that Hon. Helena Appiah has presided over non-developmental agenda and ignored the plight of constituents in the last four years.

But community members at Wassa Saa have apologized to the MCE for the actions of the acclaimed group.

The apologies came up on Wednesday when the MCE stormed Wassa Saa with some relief items to victims of a fire outbreak in the area.

In a release cited by Modernghana.com, some names were attached as members belonging to the group.

However, it has emerged that the names appear to be "ghost names" in the constituency.

Available information indicates that actions by Mr Akwasi are persistently causing divisions in the Amenfi East NPP branch.

During the 2020 general elections, Mr. Akwasi Oduro is reported to have supported the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate Nicholas Amankwa, against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate Edward Amo-Acquah in the 2020 parliamentary election.

In furtherance, he (Mr Akwasi) incited some members of the NPP to vote against the parliamentary candidate of the NPP leading to the lose of the NPP seat in the parliamentary elections.

These, some concerned members of the Amenfi East NPP branch has described as distasteful and worrying for the development of the area.

They are however demanding the expulsion of Mr Akwasi from the party.
