Let Love Lead as we celebrate Valentine's Day

Let Love Lead as we celebrate Valentine's Day
15.02.2021 LISTEN

As the world celebrates Valentine’s day; a day of Love, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) can only reminisce on the profound love, zeal, unity, obsession, among others, that characterized the struggles that ushered the party into power after the 2000 General elections, after the Tradition of the Party had been in political hibernation for about twenty-eight (28) years since the overthrow of the Progress Party (PP); an offshoot of the United Party (UP), under the leadership of Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia as Prime Minister and Mr. Edward Akufo-Addo as President, by the National Redemption Council (NRC) which later transformed into Supreme Military Council (SMC) under the leadership of Colonel Ignatius Kutu Acheampong, on 13th January 1972.

Let Love Lead!

Again, when all seemed lost and unattainable, with the same unflinching love, insatiable thirst, desire and determination for Power, the Party was struggled into victory under the leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo after the 2016 General elections with one of the highest votes margin under the history of the fourth (4th) Republic.

Let Love Lead!

Despite breaking the eight (8) year jinx, which has been an albatross and a Tower of Babel for all the political parties under the fourth Republic, would not be easy, it is still certain that, it can surely be achieved if the Love and Unity that characterized the conquests and struggles for the 2000 and 2016 General elections’ victories are allowed to lead.

Let Love Lead!

As we celebrate “The Day of Love” christened “The Chocolate Day” in Ghana, I would dedicate the song “Kidi featuring Kwame Eugene and Patoranking - Spiritual” to my lovely Wife and all the lovely Females in NPP to serve as an armour for themselves for the huge task ahead. This is because without the Spiritual and Sacrificial Love traits of Yaa Asantewaa, Queen mother of Ejisu, she would not have mastered the courage, and influenced the motivation of the men to attempt the resistance of the British to take over Asanteman. It was with same traits that kept them alive in Seychelles Islands until their return from exile in 1924. Indeed NPP has the Women.

I will as well dedicate “Okyeame Kwame featuring Kwame Eugene - Yeeko” to all the Males and Pampers Niggars in the NPP on this day. This is because the males would need all the zeal, motivation, heat and fighting spirit actively on to attain the unimaginable during the 2024 General elections. Indeed NPP has the Men.

Let Love Lead!

On this Valentine day, I would, in furtherance, exceedingly eulogize the Grassroots and Patriots of this great party for their strenuous efforts, unblemished dedications, loyalty and commitment towards the success of the Party since the journey to Democratic Governance started shortly after 1982, under the Military Governance of the Provisional National Defense Council (PNDC) led by Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings, that led to the establishment of the National Commission on Democracy (NCD) and eventually the first General elections in November, 1992.

Let Love Lead!

I will more over entreat all party faithfuls and enthusiasts to be encouraged to be bounded and led by Love, put aside differences and engage in all activities with the Spirit of Patriotism, and in unison, and only allow the object of the party winning the 2024 General elections be the only source of motivation and focus.

Let Love Lead

Valentine's Day, also called Saint Valentine's Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine is celebrated on 14th February annually. It originated as a Roman Catholic feast day honoring one or two early Christian martyrs significantly Saint Valentine. The day has gradually turned into an important cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of Love and Affection in many regions of the world.

Let Love Lead

Hhhmm, May God be praised always
