Rev. Minister attributes political unrest in Ghana to greed

Commenting on the political tension in the country after the December 7, 2020, general elections which the opposition National Democratic Congress petitioned the Supreme Court to seek a rerun of the Presidential election, a Kumasi- based Reverend Minister Apostle Dr. Thomas Fordjour Britwum, founder/leader of the True Bible Believers Ministries has attributed the situation to greed.

He calls on Ghanaians to promote peace and unity for the rapid socio-economic development of the country.

Apostle Britwum urges Ghanaians to desist from the unnecessary political tension that hampers development. He posited that financial desire has attracted many people into politics who often desire to become rich.

He warned that the desire for money which is the root of all evil has resulted us in this political mess.

The man of God bemoaned that making quick money through politics has become the major focus of the people who use foul means to acquire wealth.

The clergy said large chunk of the population have developed strong love for money leading us to all sort of social vices including crime, corruption, murder.

According to him, Ghanaians need to put the interest of the nation first and avoid struggle for money which could divide the citizenry.

Apostle Dr Fordjour Britwum called on the Christian Council, Peace Council and other religious bodies to hold programmes that would change the mentality of Ghanaians.
