Why These "Bloody Prophecies" By These Contemporary Prophets?

Why These Bloody Prophecies By These Contemporary Prophets?
02.01.2021 LISTEN

The legendary Nana Kwadwo Adinkrah Agyemang of blessed memory, a King of the old Bono Gyaaman (Jaman) Kingdom, and the inventor of the Adinkrah symbols, had one of his treasured symbols as _Owuo Atwedeɛ_ (The ladder of death).

The ladder of death symbolises the inevitability of mankind transiting from amongst the living into the isolated land of the dead.

And following suit in further explanation to what death is, my native Goka people say: _owuo da amansan kɔn mu_ (death is the yoke of mankind).

Then also in the Christian Bible, the New Testament writer, Apostle Paul, wrote in one of his epistles describing how "death is a relief to mankind". (Rom 14:8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's).

The foregone moral lessons picked from our seers, folklores, and the religious books; it's stated unequivocally that death shouldn't be part of our fears as the living.

As the saying goes "the coward dies many times before his death".

So, why is it that our prophets today are obsessed with the death of others in their prophecies. Always, on New Year's eve, prophecies must be revealed about a prominent people that will die.

Last three years, the Overlord of Ashanti, the Otumfuor Osei Tutu II was predicted of by one of these prophets of doom that he'll die. He's still with us today, healthy, even weathering through a global pandemic - Covid-19. May God bless him to see many more years.

To the angst of the Muslim community, the Chief Imam of Ghana, Sheikh Nuhu Sharaboutu, was also prophesied of to die on his hundredth year. He's entering hundred and two this year, 2021.

Maybe, in the Imam's case, the prophecy was overturned by the physical attack on that prophet's property by the Islam faithfuls who didn't take kindly to the doom prophecy on their leader.

We thought the trolling and scourges from skeptics of latter day doom prophecy prophets will spare us our ears of these death-knells entering 2021. But no, it'd been amplified a notch higher.

From Owusu Bempa to Badu Kobi, and Salifu Amoako to Nigel Gaisie, it sounded these prophets who couldn't predict the ravaging power of Covid-19 in the previous year are now handed God's gavel to pronounce the deaths of Ghana's greats.

The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, alongside many politicians and other respected people in our country they say: "will die".

The risible thing about these doom prophecies is that, the prophets always add caveats: "if the one involved come to see me, God will stop the death upon their heads".

Well, it could be that the running mate to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate in the 2020 elections saw these prophets, hence she living to see this day. For before she been chose by the NDC flagbearer, John Mahama, one of the prophets said "who he chooses will die before the polls". Professor Naana Opoku Agyemang was chosen, she's still walking about strongly today, weeks after the polls.

The outgoing president of America, Donald Trump, was predicted to win a second term by one of these prophets - Badu Kobi. January 20, 2021 will see Joe Biden taking his position at the White House.

President Nana Akuffo Addo on the other hand was prophesied of by same "prophet" that he'll lose his power to John Mahama of the NDC, the incumbent will hold again the the sword and swear on 7th January, 2021.

Do these guys worth our time anymore with their prophecies, or otherwise: lottery?

Or prophecy is now reduced to name-seeking?

The God we serve is a loving God. And who claims to worship Him must be a loving prophet.

We the brave warriors are never battered by doom prophecies as we join hands to chauffeur Ghana to the promised land in 2021.

Happy and prosperous New year to all true sons of God.
