The Bono regional branch of the United Progressive Party (UPP) has thrown its support to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the up-coming general elections scheduled for Monday December 7.

“We the entire leadership and membership of the UPP in Bono region, upon consultation and stakeholder discussions, we unanimously agree to offer our fullest support for the former president, H.E John Dramani Mahama and Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman and the NDC parliamentary candidates in the Bono region to snatch power from the NPP and H.E Nana Akufo-Addo for their bad governance and leadership”, Salifu Khalidu, the Bono regional chairman of the party said at a Press Conference in Sunyani yesterday.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo has failed Ghanaians since he assumed office barely four years ago saying, “there is no single infrastructural project being undertaken by President Akufo-Addo and his NPP government and they keep telling Ghanaians “free SHS.” Perhaps, this Free SHS the NPP is boasting about would have been run under trees if the former President had not invested in the educational sector in building E-blocks…”

Mr. Khalidu also complained about insecurity and low level of investor confidence as some of their reasons for pitching camps with the NDC.

“Ghanaians feel regretted to have voted NPP into power as the economy of Ghana is bleeding – no job for the youth, businesses are collapsing due to poor governance by President Nana Akufo-Addo and his NPP government.”

“We believe that the one who will save Ghanaians from this menace is JDM and Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman of the NDC”, he further said.
