NDC Goes Down 20 Percent in Monday Polls

It is often said that: “Those whom the very gods have blessed, no man can curse.” This is precisely what has happened in the case of the Kevin Taylor-fabricated dirty National Democratic Congress-sponsored propaganda video that sought to make the personal integrity and standout stature of President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo the main electioneering political campaign agenda of the kleptocratic and megalomaniacal John Dramani Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the final, home-stretch leadup to the Monday, December 7, 2020 General Election (See “Kweku Baako Reveals Who Recorded Akufo-Addo ‘Bribe’ Video” Ghanaweb.com 12/3/20).

The obvious and apparent motive here, of course, was to criminally reduce the sterling caliber and hard-earned image and reputation of Nana Akufo-Akufo to the abjectly insufferable level of that of Candidate John Dramani Mahama, the former President whom the recently deceased and acclaimed Founding-Father of Ghana’s main opposition political party, the National Democratic Congress, to wit, former President Jerry John Rawlings, had innumerable occasions to describe as the most irredeemably corrupt postcolonial Ghanaian leader.

Now, predictably, it turns out that the widely circulated video recording on which the former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice under the very prosperous tenure of President John Agyekum-Kufuor is shown supposedly accepting the bribery sum of $ 40,000 (USD) from an executive operative of the Mahama regime was absolutely no successful payola inducement at all, but the genuine faith-based contribution to the 2016 Akufo-Addo Presidential-Election Campaign by a bona fide Ghanaian citizen determined not to be railroaded by the country’s unwholesome winner-takes-all political culture.

And, yes, I have a copy of the “Notice of Apology” released just within the last 24 hours by the Management of Adom-TV, the subsidiary of the Multimedia Communications Conglomerate that originally broadcast the salacious but patently mendacious criminal attempt by Candidate John Dramani Mahama and his paid associates of vicious and unconscionable political scam-artists to irreparably tarnish the image, dignity and the reputation of the most competent, visionary and progressive Fourth-Republican Ghanaian leader and, indeed, the most astute and human-resource development oriented postcolonial Ghanaian leader, elected or unelected, in Ghana’s 63-year postcolonial history.

In their “Notice of Apology,” a copy of which was WhatsApped to me by a relative just this dawn, the Management of Adom-TV emphatically points out that “Yesterday, 1^st December 2020, Adom-TV aired a video allegedly of the President [to wit, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo] receiving a bribe of US $ 40,000.00 which was shown during airtime bought [and paid for] by the National Democratic Congress.” Now, this patently filthy electioneering campaign spiel, produced and circulated – a la Peduase Lodge-style – by a witheringly defeated Mr. John Dramani Mahama and his cohorts of reprobate political scam-artists like Messrs. Johnson Asiedu-Nketia and Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, could not be more insulting to the intelligence of all bona fide Ghanaian citizens and the electorate at large, because it presupposes that, somehow, Ghanaians are too daft and shallow-minded to recognize the inexcusably savage politics of personal destruction for what it inescapably is, while at the same being criminally and barbarically induced to facilely offer their sacred mandate to the most pathologically thievish gang of unconscionable nation-wreckers, and thus return our beloved nation to the prohibitive Stone-Age Culture of Dumsor.

This clever but inexcusably offensive electioneering campaign propaganda spiel ought to serve as a strong signal to all progressive-minded Ghanaian citizens and voters that the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress is an incorrigible nation-wrecking political machine that must never be allowed to ever get anywhere close to the vicinity of Jubilee House, let alone dream of occupying the same in the offing or the foreseeable future.

The “Notice of Apology” released by the Management of Adom-TV further states: “It has not come to the attention of Management of Adom TV that the contents of the video as aired does[sic] not represent the full story as it understands, which was, in fact, a video of the then Candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in October 2012 receiving a donation of GHȻ 40,000.00 [and not $ 40,000.00 USD] for his campaign. Adom TV unreservedly apologizes for any harm or embarrassment the video may have caused the President and admits that the publication was in error.”

It is rather pathetic that the leader of the very political party whose National Chairman and his associates stand indicted and charged with attempting to destabilize the peace, progress and prosperity of Ghana would stoop as desperately low as to cavalierly suppose that, somehow, what the average Ghanaian citizen and voter is in dire need of is the withering destruction of the image, personality and the hard-earned reputation of President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, rather than such quality-of-life improvement policy initiatives as the Fee-Free Senior High School System, the unprecedented and massively successful “Feed Ghana!” agricultural policy initiative, the lightning-speed improvement in the quality of the delivery of healthcare services and, of course, Nana Akufo-Addo’s landmark resuscitation of the John Agyekum-Kufuor-established National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), which the Mills-Mahama and the Mahama/Amissah-Arthur regimes effectively bungled.

Finally, to the lasting and eternal political defeat of Candidate John Dramani Mahama and his associates and hangers-on, the “Management [of Adom TV] wishes to state [categorically] that the said video has been taken down from all of its social media channels and that steps have been taken to avoid [any such] future occurrences.” Indeed, it is our studied and well-informed prediction that this inexcusably criminal attempt to take Ghana back to the morally benighted Stone-Age Culture of Dumsor will cost the National Democratic Congress at least 20-percentage points in the December 7, 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary Election. Dear Reader, you just mark it on your wall or any wall, for that matter.
