Okyeman Youth for Development endorse 'four more for Nana'

NPP Okyeman Youth for Development endorse 'four more for Nana'
DEC 3, 2020 LISTEN

The Okyeman Youth for Development (OY4D) group has endorsed the ‘Four more for Nana’ mantra while urging the youth in the country to vote massively for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate on December 7.

The group says after a careful analysis of the manifestoes of the political parties contesting in the 2020 elections and having done a comparative study of the regimes of the previous NDC government under Mr. John Dramani Mahama and the current government, they have no doubt that maintaining the NPP is the best way forward for the country.

The Okyeman Youth for Development says their conviction is particularly based on the introduction of the biggest social intervention policy, the Free Senior High School Policy.

Highlighting several other achievements made by the Nana Addo-led government as a result of interventions by his government, the group says John Dramani Mahama does not deserve to return to the presidency.

“The manifesto and the works done by H.E Nana Akufo-Addo deserve continuity. OY4D, therefore, joins Jon Maxwell to say that Nana Akufo-Addo really knew the way and he’s really shown the way. He knows what he is about and was really prepared for Presidency,” part of a press release from the group reads.

It continues, “We, therefore, call on the Youth of this country to remember that elections have consequences, we cannot entrust our future into just anybody. Come December 7th kindly cast your ballot for Nana Akufo-Addo for another four years of transformational leadership. We join the millions of Ghanaian chiefs, civil society groups to endorse Nana Addo for four more years to take Ghana to the Promised land.”

Meanwhile, the Okyeman Youth for Development is entreating all to eschew violence on December 7 when the entire country goes to the polls to vote in the General Election.

Below is the full press release from the Okyeman Youth for Development:

For immediate Release

ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES; OKYEMAN YOUTH FOR DEVELOPMENT (OY4D) ENDORSES H.E NANA ADDO DANKWA AKUFO-ADDO FOR FOUR MORE YEARS AS PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA.

“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way”, John C. Maxwell

The Change over from military rule to democratic governance in Ghana has seen the conduct of elections and multi party activism. Elections in Ghana per the constitution gives constitutionally elected candidates a term of four years to steer the affairs of the country.

Okyeman youth For Development(OY4D) which is the biggest youth group in Akyem constituting Akyem Abuakwa, Akyem Kotoku and Akyem Bosome, after a careful analysis of the manifestoes of the political parties contesting in the 2020 elections and having done a comparative study of the regimes of the previous NDC government under Mr. John Dramani Mahama and the current government under the astute leadership of H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his New Patriotic Party, OY4D unequivocally endorses four more years for H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his New Patriotic Party to steer the affairs of this country.

Our conviction is based on the introduction of the biggest social intervention policy since independence, Thus the introduction and successful implementation of the Free Senior High School Policy, which has given access to less deprived individuals and has also lessened the burden of parents who hither and could not pay their wards fees. The various testimonies shared by the beneficiaries of free senior high school is enough basis for this endorsement.

We believe that the NDC has not shown enough commitment to free SHS based on the numerous adverts they aired on national television against then Candidate Akufo-Addos quest to introduce the policy. The inconsistencies by Mr. Mahama and some NDC stalwarts have demonstrated to the effect that, the free SHS do not have a future with the NDC and it is imperative to vote for the authors of the policy to benefit this generation and the yet to be born.

Again, the Nana Akufo-Addo’s led administration restoration of the Nursing and teacher training allowance is a youth friendly Policy. This policy of allowance has existed time immemorial only to be cancelled by Mr. Mahama and makes comment to the effect even if he has to lose elections he will not restore the allowances. The sudden turn by Mr. Mahama to pay the allowances and the apology by the NDC youth organizer Mr. George Opare Addo in 2020 is a clear manifestation of inconsistency and they can’t be trusted for governance and just doing populism and the usual propaganda.

The Decentralization and digitization of the scholarship secretariat under Mr.Kingsley Agyeman cannot be downplayed. The accessibility to scholarship at the various district assemblies has ensured quite a number of tertiary students and their parents gain some financial freedom. The big announcement of a scholarship grant to 15000 free SHS graduates is a strong conviction of Nana Akufo-Addo’s quest to transform the educational sector and build the human resource capital of the country.

Unemployment of graduates in the country has also if not wholly been tackled by Nana Akufo-Addo. It was during the tenure of Mr.Mahama as president that the country witnessed the horrific formation of Association of Unemployed Graduates. This was ridiculous and Mr. Mahama is captured on tape that he is not a magician to provide Jobs. Anyways, The Magician is now in with the creation of over 100,000 jobs through NABCO and the successful regularization of these graduates into permanent jobs. The youth of this country are secured and decent under Nana Akufo-Addo.

The placement of Nurses, teachers and other graduates is heartwarming for any youth in the country. The fear of no posting after nursing and teacher education is a thing of the past under the dynamic leadership of Nana Akufo-Addo.

The planting For Food and Jobs policy and the accessibility to fertilizer is another remarkable achievement. Farmers are now better off under Nana Akufo-Addo with the increase in cocoa prices, supply of agricultural inputs. etc. We cannot go back to darker days of hunger and starvation.

The Health needs of the citizens of the country have been a priority of this government. The Various health infrastructure across the country, the provision of one Ambulance per constituency, the establishment of the zipline services to supply medical items to hinterlands is an innovation has enhanced health care delivery. Pregnant women are no more put on motorbikes to hospitals.

Any country that is poised to sustain development and meet the challenges of modern trends do not downplay industrialization. Nana Akufo-Addo with the introduction of the One district One factory policy is really transforming Ghana. The various factories and the avenue for Job creation is worthy of mention.

Okyeman Youth for development will like to sing special praise to H.E Nana Akufo-Addo for dexterity and exemplary leadership during the outbreak of the pandemic, Covid 19.Covid took most the renowned European powers to their heels and they are still grappling with Covid.

The Number of deaths and the economic problem covid brought worldwide demanded political leadership. The various strategies rolled out by the president to curb covid 19 is still a wonder to many nations. His consistent television address was a mark of fatherly love. The Injection of 100million dollars into the economy have seen various businesses resuscitating .The Provison of free water and Free electricity during the Covid season is just remarkable.. It is not surprising that Nana Addo was adjudged third world best and first in Africa to manage covid 19.

Fellow Ghanaians, time will not allow us to catalogue all the achievements for which reason we believe in the four more years agenda of Nana Akufo-Addo. The Okada, Mortuary, primary health care etc by the NDC are all ante developmental. The manifesto and the works done by H.E Nana Akufo-Addo deserve continuity. OY4D therefore joins Jon Maxwell to say that Nana Akufo-Addo really knew the way and he’s really shown the way. He knows what he is about and was really prepared for Presidency.

We therefore call on the Youth of this country to remember that elections have consequences, we cannot entrust our future into just anybody. Come December 7th kindly cast your ballot for Nana Akufo-Addo for another four years of transformational leadership. We join the millions of Ghanaian chiefs, civil society groups to endorse Nana Addo for four more years to take Ghana to the Promised land.

We will like to use this opportunity to admonish Ghanaians to flee from election violence this season and observe all the covid 19 protocols set out by the Ministry of Health.

Long live Ghana
