Some security personnel in the Ashanti region could not find their names in the voters' register to enable them to cast their ballots in the ongoing special voting exercise.

A visit by the Ghana News Agency to some of the 46 polling centres where the elections are taking place in the region revealed that some of the security personnel had their names missing from the list.

At the Tafo-Pankrono constituency, for instance, three police officers could not find their names in the voters' list.

At the Asokwa constituency, three security officers could not find their names, while one name was missing in the Kwabre East constituency as at the time of GNA's the visit.

However, the conduct of the elections has been going on smoothly and peacefully in all the centres visited.

All the needed election materials were in place with political party agents present.

All the COVID-19 safety protocols had also been put in place.

As at 0900 hours, 81 out of 631 registered voters in Ejisu, had cast their ballots.

Twenty three out of 114 had also cast their ballot at Juaben, as at 0945hours.

At Asokwa, 134 out of 380 have voted as at 01044 hours.

In the Kwabre East, 150 out of the total number of 697 voters had voted as at 0900 hours.

One hundred and twenty-two out of 365 voters had voted in the Manhyia North, as at 1021 hours when the GNA visited the centre.

One hundred and four out 290 had cast their ballots in Manhyia South as at 0945 hours.
