Remember the Mahama Hoax at Peduase Lodge?

Announcement by Information Minister Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah that the last 7 days of the electioneering campaign by the leaders of Ghana’s main opposition political party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in particular by former President John Dramani Mahama, would be composed of and shamelessly and viciously characterized by lies and other forms of videotaped dirty propaganda spiels cannot be discounted or taken lightly by those of us who would like to see Ghana progress, prosper and develop the way it is presently doing under the visionary and competent leadership of President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo (See “NDC Planning Fake Videos in Last Week to December 7 – Oppong-Nkrumah” Modernghana.com 11/30/20).

They cannot be discounted or taken lightly because this is the trademark of the apocalyptically failed former President who is hell-bent on returning and taking our country back to the miserable days of Dumsor, the industrially cancerous era of the massive destruction of the overwhelming majority of privately owned Ghanaian business enterprises. They also cannot be discounted or taken lightly because we all witnessed this Mahama-minted “Witch-Hunting” sort of dirty and mendacious propaganda play out shortly after the now-President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had seismically defeated the then-incumbent President John Dramani Mahama in the 2016 Presidential Election.

In the above-referenced circus act, the hopelessly trounced President Mahama convened a conference of all members of the Diplomatic Corps with, in retrospect, the hogwash claim that he had in his possession a videotape from Kumasi, the Asante Regional Metropolis, showing some officers of the Ghana Police Service (GPS) wantonly, savagely and brutally brutalizing some members and supporters of the recently defeated National Democratic Congress. It would shortly turn out, by the testimonies of security experts and eyewitnesses, that the incident recorded on the videoclip played by the former President to the plenary gathering of the members of the Diplomatic Community at the Peduase Presidential Lodge or Resort had absolutely no truth or veracity to it.

In short, no such incident of wanton acts of anti-NDC violence or brutality had occurred in either Kumasi or any major city or town anywhere in the country at the time that Mr. Mahama claimed it had occurred. You see, in Candidate John Dramani Mahama, Ghanaians have a clinically paranoid pathological liar and megalomaniac who lives and profits by peddling lies and stealing money earmarked for the development and progress of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Ghana with his robber-baron National Democratic Congress’ associates and cronies. Indeed, as I vividly recall, the incident shown on the videotape by Mr. Mahama to the members of our locally resident International Diplomats had actually occurred at the funeral of a fallen hero police officer in line of duty and had absolutely nothing, whatsoever, to do with the politically motivated anti-NDC vendetta that Mr. Mahama had claimed for the same.

This is the man who wants the global Ghanaian community to believe that going into the 2020 General Election, the National Democratic Congress is poised to massively losing the mandate of Ghanaian voters primarily because the Independent Electoral Commission has the deck of playing cards deliberately stacked against the Mahama Posse. I have said this innumerable times, that Mr. John Dramani Mahama is a veritable political scam-artist who never deserved to have been named or selected as the Presidential Running-Mate by a grossly misguided Candidate John Evans Atta-Mills, the circumstances around whose sudden death continue to scandalously elude members of the global Ghanaian community. Recently, Candidate Mahama confirmed the worst fears of all critically thinking bona fide Ghanaian citizens when he literally emerged out of the proverbial woodwork to furtively declare that “I did not kill President Mills.”

The former Atta-Mills’ Arch-Lieutenant left absolutely no doubt in the minds of the overwhelming majority of Ghanaian citizens and the electorate that the former Presidential Running-Mate of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings had met his death at the hands of very likely some hired hands inside the inner circle of the former National Democratic Congress’ Member of Parliament for Gonja-West, in the Akufo-Addo-created Savannah Region. We logically arrive at this most credible and quite definitive conclusion because it was only the extant Vice-President John Dramani Mahama who stood to gain much more from the strategically designed demise of President Atta-Mills than any other members or operatives of the Mills-Mahama Presidency.

And to our collective national consternation, Mr. Mahama would sanguinely appear at a press conference, but instead of first and foremost soberly and humbly condoling with the Atta-Mills Family and the rest of a visibly shaken global Ghanaian community, exuberantly and euphorically celebrate what the prime suspect in the death of President Mills smugly characterized as a veritable act of Divine Providence who, in His inscrutable and unquestionable wisdom, had deemed it picture-perfect to opportunely liquidate a politically effete President Mills in order to promptly replace the latter with Ghana’s first postcolonial born leader.

Ironically, the newly elevated Interim-President John Dramani Mahama would shortly be replaced by Vice-President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, the extant Governor of the country’s Central Treasury, the Bank of Ghana, a man who had been born in the colonial era. Indeed, there is still widespread but palpably subdued expression of misgivings about the “kosherness” of the circumstances surrounding the death of former Vice-President Amissah-Arthur, a man whose own widow has publicly attested to the shabby treatment meted him by the then-President Mahama, his then immediate boss, and the near-certain possibility of Candidate Mahama’s having had a direct hand or some substantive input in the recent demise of former Vice-President Amissah-Arthur.

On the latter count, at least one very prominent ruling party politician and media mogul, Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the New Patriotic Party’s Member of Parliament for Assin-Central, from the home region as both Messrs. Atta-Mills and Amissah-Arthur, has had occasion to critically and publicly speculate about the same. Indeed, if any actively engaged or even formerly actively engaged government operatives are apt to have engineered the treasonous and terrorist activities of the military wing of the so-called Homeland Study Group Foundation (HSGF) secessionists in the Volta Region, it is far more likely for operatives of the self-confessed incomparably violent Mahama-led National Democratic Congress to have had their fingerprints on such wanton acts of deadly criminality. As of this writing, it is also significant to note that the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, is under indictment and charged with plotting seditious activities aimed at making the country ungovernable, in a bid to having the kleptocratic Mahama Posse return to power.

Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo, a former cabinet appointee, has also been fingered by operatives of the country’s security establishment as having been smack behind the Kumasi kidnapping of the three young, white Canadian NGO volunteer women. This veritable national security risk of Candidate John Dramani Mahama and his National Democratic Congress’ Corporate Assassins, and blood-dripping political scam-artists, is what Ghanaian voters need to bear at the forefront of their minds as they head for the polling booth on Monday, December 7, 2020. People who are willing to kill, kidnap and maim, just to win political power are a major national security risk who ought not to be entrusted with the affairs of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Ghana.
