No presidential candidates have Ghana at heart – Kofi Koranteng

No presidential candidates have Ghana at heart – Kofi Koranteng

A disqualified independent presidential aspirant, Kofi Koranteng has stated that there is no candidate on the ballot who comes close to being able to fix Ghana’s problems except him.

According to him, he has had conversations with a lot of the current candidates, and he thinks they are on the ballot for their own interest and not the interest of Ghana.

“I have met a lot of these candidates and have had close contact with a lot of them and if you listen to them, you will see that they are not here to fix Ghana’s problems but are here as transactions waiting to increase their stack and be bought by either NPP or NDC.”

Kofi Koranteng was one of the five out of the 17 presidential aspirants who submitted their nomination forms with the hope of contesting in the 2020 polls who were disqualified by the Electoral Commission.

He went to court to challenge the Electoral Commission's decision to disqualify him from the 2020 presidential poll.

He had told the court that the Commission gave him a window of opportunity to re-submit the defective portions of his nomination forms; which he re-submitted on October 14, 2020.

He, therefore, expected that the Commission would have given him a fair and reasonable treatment as mandated by article 23 of the 1992 Constitution.

However, his claims against the EC was dismissed by the High Court, Human Rights Division 1 on Monday, November 30, 2020.

Speaking on Eyewitness News, Mr. Koranteng stated that he will continue to do his best to fight for the good of the country.

“We will continue to fight for Ghana. When you believe in what’s right and you know what’s right, you don’t stop, you don’t take a break, you just continue doing it. I know so many people are disappointed, but the thing is sometimes you have to always continue the fight.”

He added that he is yet to decide on who to vote for on December 7 because as it stands, none of the candidates is a good candidate in his opinion.

“I have the right to vote, I just haven’t decided who I will vote for but if I do vote, it certainly won’t be NDC OR NPP. The last time I checked I didn’t see any candidate on the ballot who will come close to fixing Ghana’s problem,” he added
