The office of the NDC Greater Accra Zongo Caucus has condemned a fake post that is currently trending on social media.

The said post which has the photo of the National Chief Imam, Dr Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu with the inscriptions "Remember Me, the Free Cars I Get From Bawumu Depends on Your Vote" is purported to have been created by the NDC to woo voters in the forthcoming December General Elections.

Hon. Ismaila Ali Horoya, the NDC Greater Accra Zongo Caucus Coordinator, reacting to the post, disassociates his party from the post, which he described as fake, untrue and very deceptive.

He attributed the post which is making waves on Facebook and other social media handles to the NPP.Hon. Ismaila Ali Horoya said it's part of the machinations of the NPP to paint the NDC black amongst Muslims in the country.

There is no way the NDC will come out with such a campaign banner. We the NDC established the office of the National Chief Imam and we would therefore not come out with such fake posts to tarnish the image of the Imam and the office at large.

He called on NDC followers, sympathisers and Ghanaians, in general, to disregard the post and treat it as part of the NPP's gimmicks, lies and deceptive politics which is aimed at making the NDC an anti-Muslim party.

"We are disassociating ourselves from the post and want all Ghanaians to know the NDC is the party that established the office of the National Chief Imam and will never ever try to drag the office into the mud, hon.Horaya emphasised.

He used the opportunity to urge NDC members to continue with their campaigns vigorously to ensure victory is achieved in the December polls.

"All signs point to victory for John Mahama and the NDC. As such, the NPP has no option than to resort to politics of deception to deceive innocent Ghanaians but it will never work," the NDC Regional Zongo Caucus Boss pointed out.
