The Mo Ibrahim Foundation is deeply concerned about the worsening situation in Ethiopia.
Escalating fighting and people fleeing their homes have never contributed to any sustainable settlement.
Progress which Ethiopia had achieved so far, as highlighted by the recent 2020 IIAG, is threatened by this situation, which cumulates with the COVID-19 economic and social impact.
The Foundation calls to all parties for calm and sense of responsibility.
Only dialogue can bring a sustained end to this crisis, for the best and shared interest of all Ethiopian citizens, and for the sake of the hard-won but still fragile stability of this key region.
