Supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been advised not to entertain any fears that the large number of aspiring flagbearers of the NPP, will create division in the party after it has held its congress to elect a flagbearer for the 2008 elections.

Hon. Capt. Nkrabeah Effah Darteh – an aspiring NPP flagbearer and also the MP for Brekum gave the advice in an interview with Peace FM's Parliamentary Correspondent in Accra.

He said the NPP strongly believes in democracy, hence none of the aspirants, who are currently more than 10, will turn his back at the party if he fails to win the flagbearership position. He said all the aspirants will rather unite to support the candidate who will be elected flagbearer of the party to win the Presidential Election.

Hon Effah Dartey said he will never withdraw his candidature as an aspiring flagbearer of the party because he stands a high chance of winning the contest.Emmanuel Akorli
