Politics Kufuor And His Team Lack Practical Ideas
OCT 4, 2006 LISTEN

The Ho Central Constituency Chairman of the largest opposition political National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Winfred Komla Agbenorkplido, has attacked President Kufuor, his ministers and District Chief Executives (DCEs) saying, 'Kufuor and his (team) lacked practical politics.'
He said that while speaking to The Independent as Takla-Gborgame when he paid a visit to the area to ascertain the veracity of a story carried by the Independent in its Thursday, September 7, 2006 edition with the headline, Takia Communities appeal to Kufuor for intervention.

Mr Winfred Agbenorkplido accused President Kufuor, his ministers and DCEs of politicizing development projects in the country, especially those undertaken under his administration in Volta Region and specifically Ho Municipality.

The NDC chairman was of the view that, since the New Patriotic Party claims it can change the fortunes of Ghanaians as stated in their manifesto, “they must be (prepared) to do that in no time as their tenure of office prepares to expire in 2008.”

He said, Taka community is only 5 kilometers from Ho, the Volta Regional capital, but has been neglected for far too long. He revealed that, amenities like good roads, potable drinking water, access to good and quality education and health care are what we termed development…but all the developmental projects like the above are being politicized (and have) thus been shifted to the hometowns (of some people)” he claimed. They are like “the hypocrite Kufuor…” who will do everything possible to hijack all national resources to his hometown… No wonder his boys are…practicing it.”
