Three persons previously associated with Kumasi Asante Kotoko have been reappointed as part of a five-man management team to manage the club.

The three old faces, businessmen Sylvester Asare Owusu and Jerry Asare as well as football administrator George Amoako would work with lawyer Kwame Boafo and Kwame Baah-Nuako as the new management team.

Asare-Owusu who chaired an Interim Management Team for the club between 2002 and 2003 is back as the chairman.

Amoako has had a near life long association with the club while Asare was part of the Major Yaw Larson management.

The Asantehene and Life Patron of Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who made the appointment at the weekend to replace the P.V. Obeng-led Board of Directors dissolved a fortnight ago, charged the new managers to work towards lifting Kotoko out of its present financial difficulties.

And as though to register the new lease of life breathed into the club as a sign of good omen, an 83rd minute away goal by Nana Arhin Duah on Sunday against Sekondi Hasaacas lifted the team to the top of the OneTouch Premier League on 10 points.

Kotoko's goalie Isaac Amoako was voted the best player on the day after he stood between Hasaacas and a win.
