The court, presided over by Mr. Adjei Frimpong convicted Agyei after he pleaded guilty to defilement when he made his first appearance before the court early this month and accordingly handed him the sentence.

In the course of it, the caretaker who heard the screams of the toddler rushed to the refuse dump only to catch Agyei red handed.

On seeing her, Agyei run away, vanishing from the area-Anyanso near Nsuam in Bekwai but was arrested by residents immediately he re-surfaced two days later and handed over to the police.

He was quickly arraigned before the court which also hammered him with the 25 years in hard labour.
