The Ghana Christian Council UK (GCCUK) and Ireland in collaboration with the Ghana High Commission, UK and the Ghana Union will on Friday 28th August 2020 hold an intercession Prayer Festival for Ghana and a Thanksgiving Service in honour of His Excellency, Papa Owusu Ankomah, Ghana High Commissioner to the UK.

The event scheduled from 7pm to 8:30pm will gather the Christian community among other Ghanaians with the aim of praying and thanking God for Papa Ankomah’s life.

It is being held to thank God for Papa Owusu Ankomah's successful recovery from the COVID-19 after he came into contact with the virus some few months ago.

Rev. Canon Dr. Shadrack Ofosuware, Chairman of the GCCUK is billed to lead the prayers and the thanksgiving ceremony.

The event will stream LIVE on the GCCUK YouTube Channel and Facebook Page.

It would be recalled that Papa Owusu Ankomah was in April 2020 diagnosed with the virus and was said to be in “stable condition” despite reports that he was receiving treatment at the intensive care unit at a hospital in the UK.

As the rate of COVID-19 infections begins to slow down in some hard-hit areas, early signs of recovery are appearing signaling hope as the world adjusts to the new normal.
