Managing Trustee of the COVID-19 Private Sector Fund, Mr. Senyo Hosi has indicated that the Coronavirus pandemic has presented a huge market opportunity as he calls on Ghanaian entrepreneurs to take advantage and conquer the West Africa region.

The World, Africa, and Ghana have widely been hit by the Covid-19 pandemic which has changed the way of life in an unimaginable way.

The enforcement of a lockdown, the imposition of restrictions, and several other directives by various governments have brought changes in the demand pattern of goods in the entire consumer space and, challenges in the global and local supply chain.

Although the demand for some goods and services has significantly decreased, the situation has also presented a whole new opportunity in the Ghanaian market, the African market, and the World market at large.

Speaking at a Multi-stakeholder reflection webinar on Covid-19 response in Ghana on Wednesday, August 19, Senyo Hosi who is also the CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD) has emphasized the need for Ghanaian entrepreneurs to take advantage of the emerging market opportunities.

“The opportunities it’s [Covid-19] brought is also the swift changes that we have had with the demand patterns. There are some things that are more in demand today than they used to some years ago.

“So for us as entrepreneurs, there is a whole new world of opportunity that COVID has opened up to most of us and that possibly depending on where we position ourselves as a country may actually be a panacea for us to actually thrive and lead the economic space in West Africa”, Mr. Hosi said during the webinar organized by the West Africa Civil Society Institute in Collaboration with Star Ghana Foundation.

The CBOD CEO believes there is the need to look at how Ghana as a whole can become more self-reliant by taking advantage of the Covid-19 as a people and making use of the opportunities that have spurt out in this period.
