The race for a successor to Ratomir Dujkovic is indeed heating up.

One of the latest applicants for the job is former Austrian national team coach Hans Krankl who resigned from his job last September.

Currently, the 53-year-old Austrian is unemployed.

Krankl boasts an illustrious CV backing his quest to become Ghana coach.

He has a European Cup winner's cup medal, won with Spain's Barcelona in 1979.

As a striker during his playing days, Krankl hit 29 goals that season to become Spain's top scorer.

Krankl, an Austrian legend would be competing for the vacant Ghana coaching position with the likes of Claude Le Roy, Philippe Troussier, Guiseppe Dossena, Jones Attuquayefio and Vladimir Petrovic.

Already two other applications for the vacant Ghana job, Claude Le Roy and Stephen Keshi are keeping their options open.

The pair have reportedly put in applications for the vacant coaching role in Ivory Coast.
