Rehabilitation of City Hotel is on course-Project Manager

The project Manager of the Kumasi City Hotel rehabilitation exercise, Mr Muu Jianjun has given the assurance that everything possible is being done to ensure that the job is completed on schedule.

The City Hotel's rehabilitation work which started about three months ago is expected to be completed by the 18th of December 2007. According to Mr Muu Jianjun, site clearing, setting up of some of the rooms for office use and 50 percent of demolition work on some sections of the building have been done.

He disclosed that all the needed materials and labour needed for the job's execution are available for the smooth running of affairs on the project. He said 80 Ghanaians and three Chinese are currently engaged on the job. Mr Jianjun added that by all standards and specification, people of Kumasi will witness the first ever four star hotel in the metropolis. This, he said, would help in hosting more international and prominent personalities to the garden City.

He praised the NPP government for the tremendous support and encouragement being given to the workers at the site. He disclosed that some government officials including the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Mr Akoto Osei and the KMA Chief Executive, Madam Patricia Appiagyei have at different times visited the site to inspect the progress of work. He used the opportunity to appeal to utility providers in Kumasi particularly the Ghana Telecom to supply them with telephone facilities to aid them in the proper execution of the job.
