NPP looks at regulations on flagbearership

The Executive Council of the New Patriotic Party says it will invoke the party's regulations to resolve the problems of infighting bedeviling the party. As the race for the flagbearership of the party heats up, there have been reports of death threats and infighting amongst factions in the party.

National Organizer of the party, Lord Commey, told JOYNEWS that the executive would invoke Article four of the party's constitution which spells out disciplinary measures, to resolve the problems of infighting.

“The national committee of the party have always had rules and regulations guiding the movement sort of and also the election of the flagbearership and what we need to do is to update it, then present to the various people who have the intention of coming out to be flagbearers of our party.”

The party's executive has also been meeting to decide when to hold its next annual delegates congress. Although no decision has been taken on the date and venue for the congress, Lord Commey says it will be held in any of the four regions which have never hosted the congress
