An Accra Fast Track Court has ruled that the Miss Ghana pageant should come off on Saturday, July 29 as scheduled, but only after the organizers, Sparrow Productions have met their obligations to Miss Ghana 2005 Lamisi Mbillah.

In his verdict, Justice Baffoe Bonney who sat on the case said his decision was reached after considering the man hours, efforts, resources and other inputs by the organizers.

In the event, Sparrow Productions are to execute all documents transferring to the applicant the title of the car by close of Thursday.

The court will also transfer the amount of ten thousand dollars, which is lodged in its registry as price money and one million monthly allowance to Miss Mbillah before Saturday's event can take place.

The court also wants guarantees from Sparrow productions to provide tickets for the reigning Miss Ghana to participate in the Miss World event scheduled to take place in Poland.

In an interview with CITI NEWS, the CEO of Sparrow Productions, Ms Shirley Frimpong Manso said "I am very happy. As the judge said, we have put in a lot of effort and now the show can come on. We have never for once held back the publicity for the pageant", she said.

On the legal tussle, she said "I'm surprised because winning Miss Ghana is just the beginning of a long process that culminates when a new queen is crowned. That is when you get the money and the car transferred to Miss Ghana".

She added, "I think the problem is that the girls have to be told what will be required of them if they win the competition, and we have done that to avert a repeat of this scenario".

Earlier, the court threw out an application for stay of execution filed by counsel for the plaintiff, Dr Raymond Attuguba, praying the court to reschedule the hearing for its original date of July 31.

Counsel for Miss Lamisi Mbillah Dr Raymond Attuguba says his client is now waiting for Sparrow Productions to follow the courts order.

"The court says that Sparrow Productions will have to transfer the amount of ten thousand dollars, which is lodged in its registry as price money and one million monthly allowance to Miss Mbillah before Saturday's event. If they don't then we will go to court and block the pageant from taking place" Dr Raymond Attuguba said
