Mr Robert Hinson, a Marketing Expert and Lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School, Legon, has introduced a purely business angle to the on-going debate over next year's Golden Jubilee Anniversary Celebration of Ghana's Independence.
He says Ghana seriously lacks a Global Marketing Strategy, and has therefore called for immediate steps to use next year's event as a launching pad to create a unique global marketing brand for the nation.
Mr Hinson was unambiguous in his description of on-going preparations towards the event, and many other major international events to be hosted by Ghana.
He says the time has come to immediately overhaul preparations towards the event so that the nation would be better positioned to reap maximum benefits from next year's birthday celebration.
On arguments over whether or not the 20million dollar allocation for next years event is too huge, Mr Hinson told CITI NEWS that the brouhaha is almost irrelevant. Anniversary He reasoned that it is only when a Global Marketing Strategy is put together to lead the way for the celebrations that one can determine whether or not the allocated amount is in excess or otherwise.
