Sammy Gyamfi’s Junk Statistics – Part 1

Going into the 2020 General Election, the operatives of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) would have Ghanaians and the rest of the world believe that the operatives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the establishment of their main political opponents, have, somehow, resorted to hitting below the proverbial pugilist’s belt. In reality, it is rather the leaders of the National Democratic Congress, desperate to grab power in order to wantonly exploit and oppress the Ghanaian people, once more, who have been hitting abjectly far below the proverbial boxer’s belt.

You see, it would be very dangerous for any patriotic and levelheaded Ghanaian citizen and eligible voter to forget the fact that even as we speak, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, so-called, Mr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, is in court charged with secretly planning nation-wrecking activities against the Akufo-Addo-led government of the New Patriotic Party. Even if in opposition, the leaders of the National Democratic Congress could be so wickedly and savagely scheming to derail the stability and prosperity of the country, you can just imagine, based on their already well-known bloody “revolutionary” political history, what these same Dumsor leaders of the National Democratic Congress would do to the fortunes of the nation and their perceived political opponents and outright enemies, if they were returned to power tomorrow.

We need to also vividly recall the recent Kumasi kidnapping of the three young white Canadian Women NGO volunteers by hired thugs of the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress. Indeed, had the Canadian government not promptly stepped in to rescue its nationals, with the collaborative assistance of our local security agencies, of course, in all likelihood, the NDC-sponsored kidnappers, as it shortly turned out, would have brutally violated and murdered these young women foreign volunteers to score cheap political points and, in the process, permanently tarnished the image and reputation of Ghana in the international community, as one of the Afghan-like no-go areas of the world. Not only that, the nation would also have permanently lost the much-needed socioeconomic assistance regularly provided us by our traditional development partners.

In other words, short of grabbing raw power for themselves and their relatives, friends and cronies, these Woyome Scam Artists have absolutely no love or respect for their fellow Ghanaian citizens. Their vehement opposition to the visionary Akufo-Addo-implemented fee-free Senior High School policy initiative, ought to inform all progressive-minded Ghanaian citizens of the glaring fact that the National Democratic Congress is absolutely in no way the political party that represents their moral values and socioeconomic and cultural aspirations, or a political party that they ought to be supporting, if they want the futures of their children and grandchildren to be studiously nurtured and afforded the requisite people-oriented policy initiatives, such as are being presently staunchly promoted by the Akufo-Addo-led government of the New Patriotic Party.

You see, obscenely showcasing a woman in the luridly opportunistic manner done by Candidate John Dramani Mahama, with Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as Little Dramani’s presidential running-mate, recently, does absolutely nothing to obliterate the fact that a Cash-and-Carry Healthcare System that callously and insensitively promotes a survival-of-the-fittest approach to the provision of medical service is not one that a people-oriented and economically inclusive political party or government would promote. In fact, it makes Candidate Opoku-Agyemang appear to have her priorities and feminine instincts as the mother of three well-educated adult children, my apologies to Mr. Sammy Gyamfi, seem to be fully reversed. You see, by effectively collapsing the Kufuor-implemented National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), the then-President Mahama clearly indicated that he was an ham-fisted economic billionaire elitist who did not care a whit about the well-being of the ordinary Ghanaian citizen.

It is also quite fascinating to learn that like the Rawlingses, none of the three adult children of Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the Mahama presidential running-mate for the 2020 presidential election, were educated at the tertiary level in Ghana. As well, back home, like the Rawlingses, the children of Naana Opoku-Agyemang were educated in some of the most exclusive primary and middle schools in the country. Which may also significantly explain why as Education Minister, the Mahama running-mate did a diddly little to appreciably improve the quality of education of our elementary and secondary school pupils and students. In sum, both Little Dramani and Naana Opoku-Agyemang are scandalously out of touch with the experiences and the existential realities of the overwhelming majority of the Ghanaian citizens whom they pretend to represent and would have the rest of us believe they have the interests, needs and aspirations of these wretched of our land at heart.
