Mahama’s Running Mate Has Scattered NPP’s Strategy For 2020 — Otukunor

The NDC Deputy General Secretary, Peter Boamah Otokunor says the NPP political strategy for the 2020 elections has been thrown out of balance following the selection of Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman as the Running Mate to former President John Dramani Mahama for election 2020.

Speaking in an interview with Afua Pokua aka Vim Lady on Egyaso Gyaso on Okay FM on Monday, Mr. Boamah Otokunor stated that the selection of Prof Nana Opoku-Agyeman was a well thought out strategy which has taken the NPP off guard and has thrown their political strategy out of balance.

“The reason we brought Naana Jane has everything to do with a strategic approach towards the 2020 elections and that has scattered the rather erratic NPP campaign of vilification and intimidation," he noted.

He added that had it not been for the COVID situation at the flagstaff house, he is sure a cabinet meeting should by now be underway to re-strategize because of Naana Jane.

Dispelling speculations that the NDC grassroots were not in favor of President Mahama’s choice of Vice President, the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC stated emphatically that the selection of Prof Naana Opoku-Agyeman was accepted by the rank and file of the NDC party.

Mr. Otokunor stressed that a head to head comparison of Vice President Bawumia and Prof Naana Opoku Agyeman shows a complete dwarfication of Akufo Addo’s Veep in terms of the affability, professional and practical experience. "It is akin to comparing apples to oranges."

He emphasized, "When it comes to professional experience, Bawumia is completely dwarfed. When it comes to affability, he is completely dwarfed. When you consider community working experience where there is a show of compassion and a close working relationship with various communities, Bawumia is completely dwarfed.”
