Rev. Obeng Leads Evangel Church International

Evangel Church International on Sunday inducted Reve-rend James Obeng into office as the first General Overseer of the church.

Rev.Obeng, until his appointment was the senior pastor of the church.

The induction ceremony which coincided with the climax of the third anniversary of the church was attended by Mrs.Gifty Afenyi-Dadzie, a member of the Council of State, Dr.Kwame Addo Kufuor, Minister of Defence, Mrs Frema Opare Osei, Deputy Minister of Manpower and Employment, and ministers of the church.

The Co-ordinator of the Network of Intercessors for Africa, Pastor Emeka Nwankpa, who inducted Rev.Obeng into office, asked him not to see his new position as a career or a profession but a call to serve his community.

He advised him to use his new position to win many souls for the Lord saying "address the mindset of the people at every level to tone their minds for God".

That, he noted needs humility, obedience, sacrifice and greatness in the Lord to achieve. He therefore urged him to operate in the spirit of the Lord like Elijah did in the Bible.

Pastor Emeka' advised Rev.Obeng to stand firm in the Lord in order to preach to win more souls for Christ.
