DFP dismisses 419 political tactics allegations
Officials of the Democratic Freedom Party have dismissed suggestions that they have been using deceit to woo people to join their party.
The National Democratic Congress claims that some of its members have been deceived to join the new party.
The NDC's propaganda secretary, Fiifi Kwetey described those involved in the practice as “419 politicians”.
But a leading member of the DFP, Bede Ziedeng, says Mr. Kwetey got it all wrong.
“I don't know whether any political party has bought the people of this country and for that matter has kept them in their garage or in their crowd and cannot release them to any other person”.
“This country belongs to all of us and everybody has a right. Every body has a conscience beside at what point in time he wants. I'm saying that nobody has control over the thinking of any Ghanaian can decide on their own that they want to join the political party or not”.
“In any case, I'm very surprised at anybody calling another party 419 group. I mean that is not part of our language. DFP has come out to say that we intend to conduct our business in a very civil scientific and respectful manner”, he said.
