Health Divine Peace Maternity Home Sensitises And Donates PPEs To Danfa-Adoteiman Community

The Divine Peace Maternity Home has embarked on a community sensitization event to demystify beliefs associated with the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Danfa-Adoteiman area in Accra.

This was done in collaboration with the assemblyman for the area Hon. Charles Kotei and supported by ‘’The Juis Guy’’ (A natural fruit juice processing company). The team comprised of volunteers from the community and the Maternity Home.

100 reusable and disposable Facemasks, 50 200ml liquid soaps, 50 100ml hand sanitizers, and COVID-19 sensitization flyers were distributed. Households were sensitized on the symptoms of the disease, mode of transmission, safety protocols such as; social distancing, myths surrounding COVID-19, personal hygiene, use of hand sanitizers, and frequent washing of hands.

Demonstrations were held to practise World Health Organization’s recommended hand wash protocols, in all thirty-two (32) households were visited.

Hon. Charles Kotei expressed gratitude to Divine Peace Maternity Home and the volunteers for the kind gesture. He noted that COVID-19 is a national and global health concern, hence, all key stakeholders should come on board in the fight against this pandemic.

The Practitioner-In-Charge of the Maternity Home, Mrs. Gladys Ama Abaloo, thanked the volunteers for availing themselves for this COVID-19 community health sensitization event. She admonished the volunteers to encourage households to make handwashing part of their daily routine.
