The dream of Chuck Kofi Wayo, the flamboyant Politician who claims he is the only true solution to the country's many economic and social woes to own a political party, will by next week come to pass.

CITI NEWS has learnt that the United Renaissance Party (URP) is to be issued with a provisional certificate next Tuesday by the Electoral Commission, after its particulars have been published in the Ghana Gazette.

Sources say Kofi Wayo, is the Interim Leader and Chairman of the Party.

According to sources, Mr Alhassan Said is the General Secretary of the party, whereas Mr Sampson Sadjie holds the position of Interim National Chairman.

Confirming this to CITI NEWS, the Director of Public Affairs of the Electoral Commission, Mr Yorke, says all is set for URP to receive a provisional certificate to operate.

Meawhile, Kofi Wayo has served notice that his United Renaissance Party (URP) is not a charity organisation for all manner of people to come seeking financial or material assistance.

In an interview with CITI NEWS, he said that even though the party welcomes all classes of people into its fraternity, the URP, which has Mercy for the poor as its motto, would not entertain people whose obsession is to feed on the little financial coffers of the party.

Mr Wayo said he would focus on eliminating the practice of vote buying in the country.

Mr Wayo, who says he would run for President on the ticket of the URP in the 2008 general elections was evasive when asked about when his party would hold its first National Delegates Congress.

He was only quick to tell CITI NEWS that his adventure is having serious impact on his finances.
