All is set for the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) University to begin in October this year.

The Reverend James Afele, Chairman of the West Volta Presbytery of the EP Church, disclosed this to newsmen shortly after the official opening of the 42nd General Conference and Revival Retreat of the Presbyters Union of the Church at Legon in Accra last Saturday, said the Church was only waiting for the National Accreditation Board to give the "green light."

The three-day Conference currently underway at the Trinity College for 200 Presbyters of the Church, has "Breaking New Grounds, The Way Forward" as its theme.

Rev Afele said the University, which would be affiliated to the University of Cape Coast, would run degree programmes in Theology, Agriculture and Business Administration. He said 85 students would be admitted to start the various programmes when the University kicked off in October.

Mr Christopher Koblah Dewornu, former Inspector-General of Police, expressed the hope that spiritual and material resources would be harnessed by the Church to ensure the smooth take-off of the project.

Mr Emmanuel Danku, Presbytery President, repeated the Church's call on government to return to it mission schools and hospitals.
