Be a Father Worth Celebrating

Father's Day is supposed to be the equivalence of Mother’s Day which is celebrated across the world. On Father’s Day, the world marks and celebrates fatherhood and paternal bonds. The day presents an opportunity to show your gratitude and love for your father or whoever has performed a paternal role in your life. A father is supposed to be a playmate, a caregiver and a loyal friend. Throughout life, a father must become a role model and a source of security and stability. A father should be the best mentor his children will ever know because he shares his experiences with them and understands what it takes to survive in the world. When the child feels like giving up, the father is there, providing encouragement, approval and incredible strength. When his kids fall, the father picks them up, dusts them off, applauds their willingness to try and be a source of comfort when the journey of life gets tough, disappointing and frustrating.

The expectations society and family imposes on a father is very demanding. Henceforth, it takes someone special with a good heart to be a father. Father’s Day is a day we celebrate, honor, and recognize fathers for the profound impact they have on our lives.

Irrespective of the exhausting roles fathers play, fathers day has not received much recognition as mother's day. The euphoria and excitement which characterises mother's day seems to disappear in the case of father's. When it comes to the celebrations and acknowledgement of the two gender roles, nobody can deny the inclination of such towards mothers. Sadly, fathers day sometimes passes by without notice.

Undeniably, the love of a father is a gift we simply must repay. A father represents the guardian and advocate of the family. Fathers are great when it comes to giving advice and also offering a comforting shoulder to lean on. Fathers always inspires us to be true to ourselves, maintain our own identity, helping us to follow our dreams and goals both on a personal and professional level. Fathers are always there when we have a question about something, when we need some support and good advice. Fathers work relentlessly for the welfare of the family. Despite instilling fear and discipline in the home, fathers still treat us like princes princesses. The way a father handles his job and also takes care of the home is marvelous. No one sacrifices their happy moments for the family like they do. They are an epitome of a responsibility ready to go some extra miles to bring smiles on the faces of people.

Fathers, as we celebrate you, continue to be worth celebrating. Do not relent in your efforts to make your homes welcoming, mend all that is broken in your homes and make your home a safe haven for growth, nurturing and support. You always have a special place in the hearts of those you influence positively as fathers.
