A Senior Lecturer at the Kumasi campus of the University of Education, Winneba, Dr.Yarhands Dissou Arthur, has blamed President Akufo-Addo, for what appears to be a manifestation of increased political violence in the body politic of Ghana.

According to him, failure by President Akufo-Addo to decisively and ruthlessly punish perpetrators of the recent Ayawso-West Wuogon violence has become the catalyst for the tomfoolery.

Reacting to violent attacks on some NPP members during and after the party's parliamentary primaries over the weekend, the University lecturer lamented the lack of political will by Ghana's leader to punish such hooligans who always foment trouble.

The NPP over the weekend held its parliamentary primaries to elect candidates from constituencies the party occupies as it prepares for the 2020 polls. There were some pockets of violence in some among opposing parties which led to injuries and destruction of property.

On the AWW report, Dr.Yarhands Arthur, who was speaking to a section of the media in Kumasi has predicted doom in the upcoming general elections should President Akufo-Addo remain adamant on the recommendations of the Short Commission to punish wrongdoers.

"In the Commission's report, some persons claiming to be National Security Officers were found to have misbehaved. They were recommended for punishment but nothing has happened, I smell danger in December polls," Dr.Arthur lamented.

Dr. Arthur has urged the moral society to as a matter of urgency insist on the Akufo-Addo government to nib these acts of thuggery and tomfoolery in the bud or brace itself for a worsened insecurity come December 2020.
