The New Patroitic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Kwadaso Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Dr. Samiu Kwadwo Nuamah is vehemently seeking to retain his seat whether hook or crook! but if the constituency executives and delegates refute his action to use the new album compiled by him with a price anticipating to serve them, then he is ready to file and contest as an independent candidate in the upcoming 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

Information gathered indicates that, the embittered member of parliament emphatically told the Party executives that, his fliers and posters as an independent candidate have been made already and will be out very soon through all social media and hard copies will also be pasted across every corner of the Constituency. One will ask, what has triggered the incumbent MP to take this action and to turn his back towards his party that elevated him to his current position?

Strategically, assessing his own capacity and chances as an incumbent MP he can sense through the atmosphere and realised taking this initiative would make him retain his seat. Moreover, Hon. Dr. Samiu Kwadwo Nuamah's intention to go Independent has one way or the other paved way for his two rivals Vincent Frimpong Manu and Kingsley Nyarko to contest on the ticket of the party.

Some people in the Constituency upon hearing his intensions are asking for his urgent suspension for putting the name of the party into disrepute. They went on to say that, he has brought tension into the Constituency which has never been the true reflection of the constituency since 2004.

*History*

Dr. Nuamah, an ex military officer in the UK and a private Energy expert, as a novice in Kwadaso Constituency politics contested the Kwadaso Constituency primaries on the ticket of the NPP in 2015 and went on to win the seat for the party unseating the current Minister of Agriculture, the former MP, Hon Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto.

He is now seeking to be retained and maintained to continue with his duties in the Parliament House but political and social entities believe he will not have it easy to fulfill his ambition on the ticket of the NPP, which is now in government.

Upon the Legislator assessing his chances, he chooses to go Independent which has surprised many for his decision to opt for such an alternative.

Several number of media have tried to reach him but he isn't ready to discuss his reasons to them.

However, the people of the Constituency, especially the members of the NPP are very angry and disappointed about the MP's intension to go as an independent candidate.

The members of his party and other constituents are saying that, the MP filed and submitted his nomination, he has been vetted and cleared to take part in the upcoming parliamentary primaries, he's even been captured in the notice of polls for the elections which will be held on the 20th June, 2020 across the country. The constituents are confused and, are still thinking about what their MP is actually trying to achieve.

The people further stated that, they think their MP is going to Independent because he knows he is likely not to win the race due to the Delegates album he tempered with. They claim it has caused the down fall of the MP.

*Issues of Party's Album.*

The people said, the MP wants his album to be used for the primaries but the party executives are not allowing him to use. They said it has created sharp division between the MP, constituency executives and the delegates.

"The old album was used to elect the party executives including the MP in the Constituency, which was supervised by NPP national and regional executives so it cannot be changed to favor him", they said.

They further on disclosed that the party has planned to meet and decide what action to take against Dr. S.K Nuamah irrespective of his decision to go independent according to the party's constitution.
