Seeking the Views of the General Public on their Reaction in a Meeting over a Settlement of Someone Stealing their Property

Seeking the Views of the General Public on their Reaction in a Meeting over a Settlement of Someone Stealing their Property
22.05.2020 LISTEN

Fellow Ghanaians and the worldwide reading general public, your views on this topic could go a long way to help some people make an informed decision. It is all about seeking a realistic but not a compassionate solution to a problem that oftentimes happens in the lives of people.

Assuming you have wrongfully been disposed of your precious property, say a car, for an argument sake, through a theft or usurpation. Usurpation is defined as “wrongful or illegal encroachment, infringement, or seizure or illegal seizure and occupation of a throne”. However, you had or have some sentimental attachment to the car.

In case whoever stole it was found and the person still has the car in his possession. The person, thus the thief so to speak, regrets stealing the car and arranges a meeting through some responsible people for settlement. Remember how dearly you hold the car in your heart. In the meeting of resolving the case, will you agree to the person still holding on to the car because he had already stolen it from you and so once stolen, it should be his? Or, you will ask for the car to be returned to you despite whichever state it is in. This is because once it is gone, you will never for the rest of your life come across any type of that car to own.

Will you ever accept any suggestion from the arbitrators as to allowing the thief to keep the car, use it until he dies before returning it to you because he has already stolen it and is using it? Yes or no?

Please, be honest with yourself when answering this question. Don’t let any emotions cloud your intelligence since this short publication on seeking people’s views will help take a proper decision on an existing problem which is about to be resolved.

I, Rockson Adofo, the proud son of Kumawu/Asiampa, will ask for the restitution (restoration to the former or original state or position) of the car to me regardless of the circumstance and state the car is found in once the thief has himself regretted his despicable action of stealing the car in the first place to depriving me of the use of my legitimate property. There will be no ifs or buts in my mind about that but to ask for the car back since there will be none anywhere in the world to buy again once it goes.

I know Ghanaians love cars but I have to use a car here to convey my message to you clearly, although I could have used a house or something else but getting you to understand the situation is what is paramount in my mind.

Supper, Oh Guy eee, and Mr Kwame Cat et al, please let me hear your views.

Rockson Adofo
