You Have Been Called To Public Service, Ghanaian Leaders

Feature Article You Have Been Called To Public Service, Ghanaian Leaders

“Show me the leaders that the youth of your country look up to and I will tell you the future of your country," said by Idowu Koyenikan

Ghana has since independence been struggling with visionary leaders who will lead her to the promised land. In fact, Ghana is among the most blessed countries with immense resources in the world. But how come Ghana is still a poor and struggling nation?

Ghanaians are always assured by elected leaders, of their unflinching loyalty. They pledge their unadulterated support for Ghanaians and their readiness and willingness to work with diligence at the top of their performance in either rain or shine to enable Ghanaians to realize their vision of transforming this nation economically, socially, politically, and culturally.

They always pledge to the people of Ghana that in the execution of their mandates, they will treat all manner of Ghanaians with respect and dignity. How come leaders give all these sweet assurances to their people but refused to do the exact thing.

All that they do whiles in power is to advance their own interests before their people. Some communities are still struggling to get electricity, schools, roads among others. Some of these leaders loot the state resources to better their lives and their family members. Why are we always giving room for such incompetent and thievery leaders to lord over us, when we still have communities in this country sharing the same source of water with animals.

Yes, I am very livid. But what can the anger of a non-entity like me accomplish? Nothing, I guess. But that will not stop me from ranting until the message reached it deeper target.

I, therefore, take this opportunity to advise now and future leaders that they are the giants who Ghanaians stand on their shoulders to look further, so they must see the leadership role as an avenue of service to the people of Ghana, service which should be discharged with humanity.
